The low pitched roof are an important element of the architectural heritage, but sometimes we find that features that worked well when the building was first designed, struggle to cope with the challenges of changing weather patterns and the intense rainfall we experience in the 21st century.

Repair were carried out in the 1980s but these have introduced new challenges that also need to be sorted out.
